The Argon E117 is a race-ready, fully-equipped and value-packed performance machine, delivering unmatched innovation drawn directly from our pro-level bikes. For many, the E-117 Tri Disc is the obvious choice for their first dedicated triathlon bike. And since aspiring triathletes don’t always come from a cycling background, disc brakes provide increased confidence as they dial-in their TT position.
The E-117 Tri Disc will also prove to be a great choice for more experienced triathletes eager to own a reasonably priced triathlon bike, which they can build up by investing in race-day spec of their choice, such as high-end carbon wheels. Already known for its superb handling, the addition of disc brakes to the E-117 Tri provides increased confidence, additional clearance for overall comfort (28c), and the added stiffness of thru-axles.
CONFIDENT HANDLING
Ideal for those considering their first dedicated tri bike, or new to the TT position. Already known for its superb handling, the addition of disc brakes to the E-117 adds increased confidence, additional clearance for overall comfort, and the added stiffness of thru-axles.
VERSATILE AND ADJUSTABLE FIT
Highly adjustable open cockpit allows for choice aerobar, and aero carbon seatpost offers an adjustable offset. Our 3D system extends fit options with three head tube heights for every frame size, easily accommodating athletes as they dial-in their position.
SIMPLICITY AND CONVENIENCE
No proprietary integration makes the E-117 Tri Disc easy to ride, easy to travel with, and easy to maintain. Ready for all storage needs, including toptube, downtube and rear hydration mount. The addition of disc brakes makes wheel changes easier, as there are no brake adjustments to make and no brake pads to swap when switching to race-day wheels.
The best mix of handling, stiffness and integration
For our newest generation of frames, we wanted to push our 3D System further by merging it seamlessly with the frame. The fully integrated 3D+ system has become an essential characteristic of our Endurance and Gravel frames. It delivers all the handling and stiffness benefits of the original 3D system in a streamlined version, offering three head tube extension heights for every frame size: 0mm, 15mm and 30mm. This provides a proven stiffness gain of 5% at 15mm and 11% at 30mm, as compared to traditional spacers. It also allows for a larger fit window (60mm of stack adjustment compared with 30 for a traditional setup). As well, the frame integration offers an aero benefit over our traditional 3D System, smoothing the airflow over the handlebar.
Get aero
Tri and TT bikes prioritise aero performance, and the geometry of these bikes reflects this. To allow the rider to achieve an aggressive aero position, the seat tube angle is much steeper than on a traditional road bike. This geometry is designed to put the rider in a more forward position. Not only does this help with aerodynamics, it also can help save a triathlete’s legs for the run, as it places less stress on the quadriceps. While a TT rider doesn’t have to worry about running a marathon after the ride, the same aggressive aero positioning is required to shave precious seconds off the course. Argon 18’s triathlon and TT geometry maximises performance while allowing riders to dial in their perfect fit to maintain that position throughout the race.
Ex-Display
This is an ex-display model that was used to showcase the Profile Design Triathlon cockpit system, therefore it comes with the profile design integrated handlebars, stem and extensions along with a bunch of great accessories. The bike is equipped with top of the range 12 speed Shimano Dura Ace Di2 drivetrain, disc brakes and deep section carbon rims. It has been on display but never ridden, however has picked up a couple of small scratches from being out and about. The main scratch is about 15mm long on the underside of the top tube, shown in images. The second frame mark is on the right hand shifter which has cosmetic scratches. There is also a scratch on the rear wheel, again illustrated. Everything works perfectly and all components are brand new.
