Talkin – Hartside Mountain Time Trial is a classic Cumbrian course with a long history, however it has been missing for several years. We have brought it back as it encompasses all that is great about cycling in the Eden Valley and North Pennines. Run as a summer evening event to make the most of the available sunlight and having the start/finish on the green of The Blacksmiths Arms, Talkin makes this the perfect social cycling event despite the challenging course.
This event forms part of the Wolf Cycles Eden Valley Time Trial League in conjunction with Rock 2 Roll CC and Border City Wheelers
Sign on and start is at Talkin Village Green, outside the Blacksmiths Arms from 5.45pm and first rider off at 6.30pm.
Entry is £5 on the night, no pre entry.
Course Info:
Start in Talkin at crossroads; Proceed west bearing left at Chapel House(0.37m) to join B6413(0.77m). Proceed south through Castle Carrock and Croglin(7.78m). Keep left at next junction, leaving B6413(8.69m), through Renwick and left (sign Alston) through Haresceugh and Selah Bridge to join A686(13.76m). Left on A686 over Hartside moor towards Alston. On approach to Alston left on A689(20.7m) (sign Brampton) to Hallbankgate(35.85m) where left on unclassified road to finish Talkin Village sign. (38m) (2862ft).
